Did you know that potato flakes are dehydrated mashed potatoes made by applying cooked, mashed potatoes to the surface of a large drum (the drier). As the drum rolls, it dries the potatoes to the appropriate moisture. The dried sheet of product is then broken up and ground to the desired specification of the customer. So yes, dehydrated potato flakes are “real” potatoes! |
