| in the beginning: |
It was 1975. Scott had worked for over 16 years in the food processing business and knew what it took to create a great product. Customers wanted someone with a hands on approach, flexibility, and personal attention. In order to do it right, Scott knew he had to strike out on his own. So he and his wife Lynn started their own business in the basement of their modest home in Bellevue, Washington. With babies on one arm, and a telephone in the other, Lynn began developing the international division while Scott concentrated on the United States and meeting with his growers. Within six months they hired a neighbor to assist with the growing company, and soon another. Soon, Pacific Valley Foods had a full line of frozen vegetables and potatoes sold in the U.S. And internationally, they became one of the first companies to begin exporting frozen vegetables and french fries to Japan.
Today, Pacific Valley Foods has lived up to the original commitment by Scott and Lynn Hannah. We are internationally recognized and admired as a company who will do what it takes to bring the quality products to our customers. Listening to what our customers are telling us they need is our number one priority. We truly understand that excellent relationships are vital to the success of our company, after all, family is at the core of everything we do. Pacific Valley Foods was started by family, is owned by family, and operated by family. Does that really make a difference? You bet. We treat everybody we work with as an extended member of our family. This level of intricate care is rarely found these days in the industry. But you can expect it with Pacific Valley Foods.
Those babies? Grown up and running the company with Scott, Lynn, and the other Pacific Valley team members that are critical to our success. From the Hannah family to the world for over 30 years. |
